How to get KLOA

Yup, we’re staring! That’s because we’re calling out the mobile world on a question:

Why are we still using a GENERIC interface for text entry?

Apps have context — e.g., clothes, games, or food. But the keyboard doesn’t know about it. Why???

KLOA changes that by giving each app its own keyboard.

It’s sort of like each of us. Some of my friends talk about F-1 racing. Others about food. Others about tractors. I know the context of each, which means I know their vocabulary. Their vocabulary is like their voice. I recognize it and I’m familiar with it. That context makes our communication easier because, when I’m listening to them, I don’t need to hear them perfectly to understand them. The context I have about them helps me.

The iOS and Android keyboard are DEAF to context. For example:

  • ‘banana’ becomes ‘rocket’

  • ‘guitar’ becomes ‘pillow’

  • ‘ocean’ becomes ‘wallet’

It’s so frustrating!

These words aren’t even remotely related!

KLOA solves this by giving each app its own voice.

In other words, KLOA gives each app its own keyboard. Each one is trained to use the words that fit the context, e.g., clothes, games, food. This way, apps don’t correct to out-of-context words, so the user doesn’t have to type perfectly. Input becomes like a chat with a friend who knows me — and the vocabulary I use.

The graphics below show this comparison. The top one is the current status — a common keyboard used across all apps. The bottom is with adoption of KLOA — each app has its own version of KLOA.

KLOA is implemented by developers, not the mobile platform (iOS or Android).

KLOA’s utility is adopted by brands, firms, shops — whoever is developing the app or site. KLOA helps these brands deliver an integrated text-entry/search experience that customers will LOVE and learn to expect across all their apps. This tight integration delivers an experience that can’t be matched by a generic keyboard.
